One bright sunny day there was a girl named Hannah, she was on a quest to find something magical, she went from place to place searching. One day she
The quest: finding the perfect light-coverage, skin-perfecting, oil-controlling, hydrating, SPF included tinted “moisturizeresque” product. In essence, what I wanted was something for every day, or those casual days when I just want to have a tinge of extra “oomph” aka, my skin but better. So, a lightweight, non-greasy or cakey coverage that was medium-light, enough to cover redness and undereye circles, but would still let my skin peek through.
The something that called to me magically at a back aisle of Sephora: Erborian CC Creme.
The reason it called to me is because well, the packaging is shiny and reflective and damn cute. It has a very minimal, yet high techy feel. I got closer and an employee came up to me telling me she loved it and that it has “adjust to your skin tone tech” ok, I was curious, but now I’m interested. I grab the tester, put a nice dollop on the back on my hand…rub it in slightly and notice the texture, very smooth and lightweight, silky, and as it rubs in…sure enough, it’s blending. After about a minute, it’s invisible, where does my hand begin and it ends?
I run to the register, purchase, check.
Now, how did it respond on my face?
Coverage: very light, only slightly buildable. Didn’t really do much for redness and circles, but it did give me that “my skin, but better” thing and with a little concealer, the other issues were taken care of.
Oiliness patrol report: Not so much…it had a little bit of a matte effect once set with loose powder, but after a half-hour, I was right back to the oil spill of a face that I rock. I think unfortunately that this product actually makes it a little worse too.
SPF: Yes, 25. White cast that usually comes with: just a tad.
Hydrating: Yes, most definitely. Also, this brand is super cool and uses highly innovative products and methods. This CC Creme, even though it wasn’t a perfect match for what I was looking for, made me get more interested in their brand. I highly recommend checking out their products the next time you’re at a Sephora.
Bottom Line: I’m gonna give it a ⅘ for performance, but for some reason, I feel this fondness for it and I don’t regret the purchase at all because it’s just so interesting and it got me to look into some of their other products. (More on that in a later post) 🙂
