Elf’s Jelly Highlighter is Tricky, But Once You Get it Right, You’ll Never Go Back

It’s time to face the music. Highlighting is fun, but sometimes that sparkly, shimmering, metallic glitter on your cheekbones looks less snatched and more arts and crafts gone wrong.

Yes, there are definitely times for shinning to the high heavens, but on the days when you want more of a natural glow or dare we say, a “no-makeup-makeup” look, this new highlighter from elf is just the thing. It will give you the most natural-looking highlight ever. It will be faint, like it’s just your skin glowing from within, with none of the tell-tale signs of shimmering highlight whatsoever.

So if you’re looking for a toned-down highlight that’s more natural, or you’re just starting to dip your toes into the highlight world, you gotta get those paws on elf’s Jelly Highlight stat.

However, there’s a catch. This baby is not your average highlighter, and you cannot apply it like a regular highlight. It sets its own rules and they are the following:

1. Do not apply the jelly highlight over your makeup; it must go under foundation. When it’s done like this, you’ll get the prettiest, most subtle lit-from-within glow. The jelly highlighter alone looks patchy and is not forgiving on skin texture.

2. It cannot be applied to bare skin. It must go UNDER some type of coverage that’s liquid. (Foundation, tinted moisturizer, etc.).

That’s it, thems the rules.

Also, use it sparingly, you only need the tiniest dab.

It’s super simple. All you do is dab a tiny bit of the highlighter onto your bare skin on the areas you usually highlight (over moisturizer or primer is fine), then pat it in gently, and layer your foundation over.

So if you’re ready to obey the rules, you’re in for a treat; the most beautiful, lit-from-within glow that’s as natural as a butterfly.
