It’s 2019, and the latest trend is hydration. This is especially vital for summer of course, and luckily there are a ton of great options for tasty hydration. So if you have a hard time committing to plain water, read on for my favorite summer drinks. I feel like I’m cheating my way through hydration because they are so tasty, but what it comes down to is just getting that water down, and if flavoring or bubbles help you get there, more power to you.
The Bubbles San Pelligrino Essenza
San Pelligrino outdid themselves with their Essenza sparkling mineral waters. They are sugar-free, which is my main concern with flavored waters. They taste incredible with three flavors Tangerine & Wild Strawberry, Dark Morello Cherry & Pomegranate, and Lemon & Lemon Zest. These are the best tasting sugar-free sparkling waters I’ve ever tried. I also found that these, unlike most other sparkling waters are gentler on my stomach, I’m not sure why, but all I know is the different brands usually leave me feeling bloated and uncomfortable. San Pelligrino leaves you just feeling refreshed and hydrated. Also, on the note of how delicious they are, my husband, who is not sugar-free loves these, so much so that he has been replacing his diet Coke addiction with San Pelligrino!
Whole Foods Italian Sparkling Mineral Water
My other favorite sparkling water comes from the Whole Foods brand. Their Italian sparkling waters are delicious, sugar-free, and don’t give me any stomach issues! I am particularly in love with their flavors. They taste unique, and gourmet if you will. If you’re the type of person who likes your sparkling waters to have a strong flavor and struggles with other drinks (looking at you La Croix) not having enough flavor, definitely give Whole Foods sparkling waters a try! The flavors are Citrus Blend, Lime Mint Elderflower, and Strawberry.
My favorite is the Lime Mint Elderflower, it’s so different and has a refined type of taste. It makes me feel like I’m at a fancy restaurant every time I drink it, and sometimes that fantasy is just what you need to get you through a blisteringly hot summer day.
Vital Proteins Flavored Water with Collagen
Vital Proteins Collagen Water clocking in with 10grams of collagen, real fruit juice, only 3 grams of sugar (from the fruit), and an incredible taste, what’s not to love?! Whether you’re keen on getting more collagen into your diet, or you’re interested in a delicious flavored water without a lot of sugar, you’re going to love these new drinks. I started drinking them for the collagen and stayed for the delicious taste. As I mentioned earlier, I’m sugar-free (yes, I know they have 3 grams, but it’s only from the fruit, the rest of the sweetener is from Monk Fruit!) so finding delicious flavored waters have been a struggle, and I’m so happy to have found these. I have been taking collagen for about a year now, and I know the debate is high on whether or not consuming it has real benefits, but for me, I definitely notice less pain in my knees (dance injuries) when I’m consistently on collagen. I am hoping that it’s having a positive impact on my hair and skin, but I can’t definitively say it’s the collagen instead of the many skin and hair care products I’m using, you know? But for now, I’ll keep on it because it has made me knee pain subside almost entirely.
Now onto the important bit, the taste! They come in five flavours. Original Strawberry Lemon Lemon Ginger Blueberry Mint Blackberry Hibiscus My favourite are the Blueberry Mint, Blackberry Hibicious, and Strawberry Lemon. They are each more delicious than the last. You’ve got to try it. The taste, the sugar-free element, and the collagen, what’s not to love? Now go out there and hydrate deliciously! And FYI this whole time I’ve been sipping on my Whole Foods LIme Mint Elderflower and have now finished it and am on my way to the fridge for a Blueberry Mint from Vital Proteins.
