Natural as mud is not how you would describe your nail polish. But it’s how I describe mine.
Piggy Paints are as cute as they are natural and non-toxic. They are safe for children as they are a hypoallergenic, waterbased formula that is pretty much odourless (it smells slightly like finger paints). It’s also safe for mamas to use during pregnancy.
I am not skilled with nail polish, like not at all. But I don’t like going to get my nails done either. I find that unless I get a gel polish, I’ll end up chipping my expensive mani-pedi after a few days.
I got majorly into gel polish for a while, but then I started realizing how damaging it was to my nails. I did gels on the reg for about four months, and my nails that were usually super strong, grew fast and were not brittle or prone to breaking, became sad, lifeless duds. They were so thin, did not grow seemingly at all, and were doing that weird splitting thing like crazy.
So I put down the polish and swore off gels. It took me about a year to get my nails back to their usual health. So now that they are recovered and healthy, I was ready to try my hand at nail polish again. Even though I’m not the best at painting, I thought I could at least give it a try and see if maybe I could find a good nail polish that wouldn’t be damaging.
When I found Piggy Paint, I thought there was no way it would be high quality. It was aimed at kids and looked more like an arts and crafts type of thing rather than a serious nail polish. And I’m happy to say, I couldn’t have been proven more wrong. They are fantastic. Piggy Paints deliver just as well as any other DIY nail polish I’ve ever tried. Better than most even. I found that they are really easy for my shaky and non-artistically inclined hands.
I don’t know if it’s the fact that they are made for kids, that somehow makes them easier to use? But they are great. One of the easiest nail polishes I’ve ever used and they have stunning results. I got this little intro kit so I could try out a variety of colors and I love them all.
I always get a ton of compliments when I wear their nail polish, and then I get a stunned expression of disbelief as I say with a smile, “It’s called Piggy Paint.” There are so many reasons to try these babies. The non-toxic element, the odourless-ness, the easy of use, and of course, that amazing name. Piggy Paints, doesn’t get any cuter than that.
