Pixi – Hydrating Milky Mist – Review

The Intro

Just because it sprays doesn’t mean it’s for setting. Introducing the most fun way to moisturize ever. Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist is a sprayable moisturizer that packs a serious punch. It’s full of all the heavy hitters when it comes to great moisturizing agents, hyaluronic acid, linoleic acid, provitamin A and a bunch of vitamin B’s. It’s also got a blend of black oat, something I’m new too, but according to this sciency article, it’s V good for moisturizing the skin and hair.

As good as all these ingredients are, they are just an added benefit to the real stand out winner, the incredible sprayer. Oh my gods, you guys. It’s unreal, one depression and the spray pump gives you the most perfect mist, it should be illegal. You know that children’s cereal, cocoa puffs and the little parrot guy whose famously cuckoo for them?  That’s me to a tee when it comes to Pixi’s hydrating milky mist. In fact, one of my favorite things to do while watching TV is to liberally spritz myself with it every 15 minutes. I can’t get enough. I keep it accessible at all times and spray my face at least every couple of hours. Not joking.

The spray is just so perfect. I’m going to try to do it justice but you’ll have to experience it for yourself to truly understand. It’s a beautifully even mist, incredibly fine without being too waft like. It’s so gentle and refreshing, leaving you with the perfect amount of product that will not disturb your makeup in the slightest but will absolutely make your skin feel more moisturized and soothed.

You know how some setting sprays spray a bit too hard and leave too much product, the ones where you squint your eyes hard in uncomfortable apprehension right before spraying? Or there are the ones that are much too gentle of a mist and you feel like you have to spray 10 times to get enough product? Well, Pixi has done cracked the code and forged us the most perfect spray pump possible. We are not worthy.

They have several other mists as well using the same type of spray pump, so if the milky mist isn’t your jam you’ll be sure to find one that fits your needs. I have the Rose Glow as well but I find it makes my already oily skin shinier than needed. I love the Milky Mist because of its gentle hydration, I don’t use it as a standalone moisturizer because my skin needs a much heavier combination of products to do the job. I use this mist as an enhancement to my other products that are possibly more for my own enjoyment and happiness than it is for my skin’s benefit. It’s the perfect top off to your skincare routine, the loveliest little way to bring that touch of sophistication, bliss, and indulgement to your day.

The details

It’s available at Target and Pixi’s website for $15

You get 2.7 fluid ounces

Even with my disgustingly liberal application I still have more than half of the bottle left and I’ve had it for a couple of months now.

It’s not tested on animals and it’s paraben free.

It expires in 12 months.

The Down and dirty

I’m going to skip over this part as there isn’t anything super crazy going on in the product itself, it’s a great lightweight moisturizer, but as I previously stated, the sprayer itself is where my heart is at.

The Pros and Cons

Pros:

Most incredible sprayer to ever walk the face of this earth

Great product inside of it

Fun choices of mists so you can choose your perfect match and ensure you’ll find something that will give you the opportunity to experience the amazing sprayer

Good value price wise, I’m super happy it’s not more money because I would literally pay whatever it takes to keep this in my hands (shhhh don’t tell Pixi about the power they could be exploiting over us all).

Cons:

None for me (yay for total and utter positivity)

The Tips and Tricks

Spray it over your makeup to help lock it in and keep it from doing the dreaded three o’clock slide.

Spray it throughout the day to freshen your makeup. This can be done in several ways, if you find that your skin is looking super oily, first blot the oiliness away, then depending on the state of the makeup and how oily your skin is you can either repowder and then spray the mist or just mist away after you blot. Also if you see that your makeup is settling into your fine lines (hello concealer area), you can dampen a beauty blender with the mist and then use the beauty blender to retouch the area, then apply powder to reset and finish with a misting.

Spray it on bare skin for a hydration boost, or spray it as a final touch of extra hydration as a perfect final step to your skincare routine.

Spray it whenever you need a little relaxing, self-care moment.
