ELF’s New Smudge-Proof Mascara is a Total Game Changer – In More Ways Than One

Friends, makeup-enthusiasts, countrymen people, lend me your ears (or rather eyes since you’re reading this). I come to bury all other mascaras that claim to be smudge-proof and sing the praises of one that knocks the competition out of the park.

This new mascara from elf is ridiculous. The formula is a total knockout. The wands, (yes, two wands!) are perfection. But the real standout is the delivery and long wear of this mascara, this combined with the ease of removal, makes it a mascara worthy of the title Emperor.

Once you apply The Smudge Proof Mascara, it sets down and might as well be concrete. Nothing, and I mean, nothing will make it budge. No amount of sweating, crying, blubbering or rubbing will dislodge the mascara from your delicate eyelashes. But wait, there’s more! You’d think that with this cement-like set, it would be a pain to remove, not so, my fair one. To remove it, all you need is a few quick splashes of warm water, and the mascara will come sliding right off.

This is the magic of the tubing formula mascaras. Regular old mascaras work by coating layers of pigment, usually in some type of wax to your lashes. Tubing mascaras, on the other hand, work by covering your entire lash in little tubes.

The formula goes on beautifully, but it sets quick. So if you like multiple layers (more than two), you’ll have to work fast. I’ve found that two applications are the sweet spot, any more and it’ll start to get clumpy just because of how quickly it sets.

Smudge-Proof Mascara gives tons of length and volume, and it curls your lashes nicely as well. I found that it works best when you use a lash curler before the application of mascara. The mascara does an absolutely beautiful job of holding your lash curl for hours on end — one of the best that I’ve encountered for holding a curl ever.

Also, when I say it will not budge, I’m talking zebra eyes (where the mascara starts to rub off and leaves these little zebra lines on your upper and lower eyelids). So once it sets, it stays right there on your lashes, until removal. It’s something you can absolutely count on. You can trust it to have your back always.

Now, let’s talk about the lower lash wand. It’s perhaps the most exciting part of the mascara because of how innovative and new it is. I haven’t seen a lower lash wand like this before, and after using it, I’m wondering why other mascara brands are so far behind elf. Whoever put this together at elf, I salute you. Please keep up the excellent work. I love you.

The little brush is perfect for coating the lower lashes. It’s thin and delicate and delivers the most perfect amount of mascara to your lower lashes. It doesn’t weigh them down or make them stick together as so many other mascaras do. It’s just like what all lower mascaras should be. Seriously, why isn’t this a bigger thing yet?! People, mascara enginers, heed my advice: get on elf’s level.

Also, you, reader, lend me your ears and for the love of god herself, if you want smudge-proof lashes that you can count on, and the best lower lash application of your life, get this mascara right. freaking. now.
